I'm doing portraits of people with dark Skin in the next few days.
and I can't find one non IRISH person to sit still.....
so I got it "close" with DAVE!
he's Black Irish.....maybe...
any way got tons of these sort of shots... but I like this one.....it's a test... but he looks good.

Looks great - nice expression. Skin tones maintained nicely. How about a rim light?
ReplyDeleteShot a prom last year; students had dark-medium toned skin for the most part. A couple dark skin/light skin couples that made the lighting very challenging. Worked out nicely for the most part. Shadow/highlight in PS or "fill light" in the Adobe Raw converter does well.
ReplyDeleteThe catchlight in his near eye livens this portrait up a lot. It's amazing how a little dot can really bring an image to life like that. Looks like you directed well, too; he's looking in a perfect direction. Nice iris to white ratio.
