Nice composition in all of these shots. It's always interesting to see what scanned film/print looks like compared to an edited digital capture. If the lack of contrast is intentional, I'd say "Well done- it adds a nice mood to the shot". If it's unintentional, it's worth mentioning that the shadows lack some depth. I'm personally fine with the tonality of these shots as-is. Definitely gives a more antiquey look; like something from the 70s. Which works nicely with the subject matter.
In the last shot, I feel a lower vantage point may have helped a bit. We're almost seeing down on the top of that shack, which minimizes the size/impact of the objects in the frame.
I definitely see what you're getting at with the diagonals. Something, though, is holding this shot back somewhat. I'd suggest that it has something to do with average/poor light conditions and viewpoint. Lower with some streaks of sun or late sun would be more impactful, I'd reckon. The light in this shot seems to be telling the viewer that the action is past the foreground objects, out with the ships.
