Beer at the Burren

This was taken in nearly no light pointing the hotshoe flash off the back wall for a soft look. I think the only thing missing is some smoldering cigarettes.

A few nature photos...

In the forests of Western MA. Not sure if it's art?

So, I got stuck in traffic. Found a way to pass the time at a local park...

Here's another from the same set.

Decadence on a Stick

Folks are keeping it mad real with the lawn ornaments in Medford, MA. Here's a shot from earlier today. Custom-cropped in post. Thoughts on the placement of this badass m.f. flamingo? Other input?

And a dusty one from the Cape

Also shot with Fuji Superia 400.

Wandering Around on fishing Boat

Here's a few shot I took on a fishing boat.

All taken with Fuji Superia 400.

Heyo.

Hey guys. I figure I should start posting up.

These days most of the shooting I'm doing is with the camera I always have with me, my iPhone.

It's an interesting piece of kit, with every part of the camera limited. Kind of feels like a holga in that sometime it does weird stuff.

And then some cool guy made an app for it that really tries to emulate film. Which is pretty cool.

So bla bla bla, here's a few from the past week.

These are un-editted, straight out of my phone.

self portraits.....

in the AM light....
shot with the POS P+S

I ran them through color fx pro.
using filters that emulate what I used to do in the 90's with Alt Process and film....

as per bruce's suggestion, i've made two alternate versions of the daisy picture. i like them both!

daisy daisy give me your answer true

just simple/bubblegum. i like the feeling that this shot gives me. i feel like probably the daisy is probably too centered, though.

straight from the camera (canon rebel), no edits.

Colorado

I'm out in Denver, CO for training for the next couple of days and plan on getting out every evening to shoot. Here's something from yesterday. I love this type of subject, but I'm always at odds with how I should shoot it. Any thoughts for improvement?

Harold never sleeps

Took this pic @ midnight. Our neighbor is up all night w/ his machines.

I got the funky focal depth using this online automator.

Does it look hacky?

Shipyard

While it's impossible to capture the magnitude of this boat being built, it's always worth a shot. Crazy-ass thing to see. If I had my preference, I'd have gotten this with people walking the floors for scale, but no such luck.

First blog. First ever post to a blog. Eileen LEAPS into the technology of the 90s...

Shot with a Pentax K1000 on Ilford. No software involved...that technology thing again.

What does it need?

I'm enjoying this series I'm working on but I am feeling stuck. I'm not sure if I should push the form to be more realistic, or keep it as a minimalistic approach to anatomy.

Ferret

I suck at shooting live subjects (except the cat, he's a natural). People are hard. I decided to try with ferrets. Low light made this doubly challenging. I don't monkey with my shots (too cheap to buy decent software) so this is basically straight from the camera...might have adjusted the white balance or something:

I like this shot, but it's not quite working for me and I can't figure out why.

So...tell me the truth. What do you think?

HERE We GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok.
I've been not thinking in color for quite some time.
I love Black and White. and see in tonality more then in color....
so.
I decided .....I'm going to FORCE myself to shoot in color.

and in doing so....shot this VERY Blue Chevy Bel air Nomad in the Home Depot Parking lot this past Sunday.

it's sort of monochromatic... I guess....in a Blue way.

the image was opened in RAW and slightly tweeked.
then in photoshop I ran it through ColorefxPro and added a film emulation filter to it.... then a tweek of the Curves.....and I got this....

thoughts?
